Tallow Moisturisers — Instructions for Use
HOW TO USE
Start with clean hands.
Scoop a small amount of balm or moisturiser from the tin.
Warm it gently between your fingertips until it softens and begins to melt into an oil-like texture.
Massage gently into clean, dry skin until absorbed.
A little goes a long way — start with a small amount and add more if needed.
Use daily, morning or evening, or whenever your skin needs extra moisture and softness.
A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY
Our tallow moisturisers are rich, concentrated formulations. You don't need a large amount to moisturise the skin.
If the product initially feels firm, simply warm a small amount between your fingers. The warmth of your hands will soften the tallow and make it easier to apply.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
Keep it oil-based
Our tallow moisturisers are designed to be used on clean, dry skin.
For best results, we recommend not layering them directly with water-based moisturisers. Allow your skin to absorb your chosen products separately rather than mixing oil-based and water-based moisturisers together. Our advise is don’t use water based moisturisers if you are using tallow.
Sun exposure
Avoid going out in direct sunlight with tallow moisturiser freshly applied to the skin.
For daytime use, consider applying your tallow moisturiser when you will not be exposed to direct sunlight, and use appropriate sun protection when required.
Tallow moisturiser is not a sunscreen and does not provide a tested SPF.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Because Tallo Queen moisturisers are made with natural fats, oils, honey and waxes, the texture can naturally change with temperature and over time.
These changes do not necessarily mean the product is faulty.
PURE TALLOW — FIRM WHEN COOL, SOFT WHEN WARM
Pure tallow naturally becomes harder in cooler temperatures and softer when warm.
If your moisturiser feels firm:
Scoop → Warm → Melt → Apply
Simply take out the amount you need and warm it between your fingers. Depending on the amount and room temperature, this may take a couple of minutes.
As the tallow warms, it will return to a soft, oil-like consistency that is ready to massage into the skin.
HONEY BALMS — NATURAL SEPARATION
Our honey balms contain both tallow and honey, which can naturally behave differently within the balm and may result in some separation or variation in texture.
This is normal for the formulation.
Please do not heat the entire tin or melt and re-blend the product, as excessive heat can affect the natural properties of the honey.
Instead:
Scoop out what you need → Warm it between your hands → Massage together → Apply
The warmth of your hands will bring the ingredients together as you apply the product.
BEESWAX — NATURAL CLUMPS
Beeswax is naturally yellow and, even when carefully melted and blended during production, small pieces or clumps can occasionally develop as the product cools.
If you notice a small beeswax piece or lump, don't worry.
Simply warm the product between your fingers along with the tallow. The warmth of your hands will soften it and allow it to spread smoothly onto the skin.
TINY WHITE NUGGETS OR LUMPS OF TALLOW
During production, we carefully blend our ingredients at temperatures selected to help preserve the characteristics of the ingredients.
As the product cools, tallow can naturally firm up before the rest of the formulation has completely settled. This can occasionally create small white nuggets or lumps within the finished product.
This is a natural characteristic of tallow-based formulations.
If you find a small white nugget:
Warm it between your fingers and continue massaging.
It will soften as it warms and become part of the oil phase, ready for application.
STORAGE & PRODUCT LIFE
To help maintain the quality of your Tallo Queen moisturiser:
Store below 25°C.
Keep out of direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Keep the lid securely closed when not in use.
Always use clean, dry hands when handling the product.
Use within 6 months of opening and before the stated expiry date.
Natural products can vary slightly in colour, texture and consistency from batch to batch. This is part of the character of a formulation made with natural ingredients.
SAFETY
For external use only.
Avoid contact with the eyes.
If irritation, stinging or burning occurs, discontinue use.
If you have particularly sensitive skin, consider performing a small patch test before first use.
